Star Citizen's Daymar Rally is back on January 23 with sign-ups open now, and a Squadron 42 event film lands this week

Start building your crew now. The Daymar Rally, the community’s long-running endurance race across Daymar’s dunes, returns on Saturday, January 23, 2027, and registration is already open. RSI flagged it in last night’s This Week in Star Citizen, and The Impound’s rundown says the course promises more than 510 kilometres of terrain across three divisions.
The details so far. Organizer ATMO Esports lists the race as team racing for 2–4 person crews, starting from the Shubin Mining Facility on Daymar in Stanton. Before race day there are two open practice sessions: December 12, 2026 and January 9, 2027. Last season’s winners give you an idea of the scale. FAR OUT took the Bike Division in 44:37.9, while XGR won Trucks in 4:39:23.3 and 1ER CORPS COLONIAL won Buggies in 5:13:08.4. The current rulebook on the event page covers entry requirements and eligible vehicles, so read it before you pick a ride.
Also this week: a Squadron 42 film. CIG plans to release a behind-the-scenes video from the October Squadron 42 Manchester event later this week. No exact day has been given. It’s the first official look back at the play sessions where invited creators got real hands-on time with the campaign.
The rest of the week
- Friday, October 30: the RSI Weekly Newsletter, usually with a Sneak Peek, and the October issue of Jump Point for subscribers.
- PTU: Alpha 4.10.3 is still in Wave 1 with the Nyx Vanduul Incursion missions and the Skarnov rifle. RSI says more waves are coming “soon” but hasn’t given dates.
- Day of the Vara is still running, including Arena Commander’s Kill Collector FPS mode and its free Vanduul mask, plus the pumpkin-decorating contest.
- Community MVP: HEBRAiST’s cinematic trip aboard the Constellation Mk V Centaurus and its Skylark, Is This the Most Star Citizen Ship Ever Made?
PPR take: January sounds far off, but a 500-plus-kilometre race across Daymar punishes crews that don’t practise. Lock in your drivers and navigators now and use the December session as a shakedown. And if CIG drops that Squadron 42 film this week, we’ll have it here.
