Warhorse has been breached. Warhorse Studios, the Czech team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, confirmed on October 27 that it was hit by a cyberattack. “The attack involved unauthorized access to company systems as well as access to company data,” the studio said in a statement on its website, GamesRadar+ reports. It’s working with cybersecurity experts and the relevant authorities.

What the CEO said. “This is a serious incident for Warhorse Studios and everyone affected,” CEO Martin Frývaldský said. He added that the first priority is to secure the studio’s systems, find out how far the breach went and protect employees, partners and players.

What we don’t know yet. Warhorse hasn’t said what data was accessed, who was behind the attack or how they got in, and it won’t do interviews until it has verified details, GamesHub notes. No leaks tied to the studio have shown up so far.

Why it matters. Warhorse is working on an open-world Lord of the Rings RPG and a new Kingdom Come game. PC Gamer points out that unreleased project files would be the obvious target, the kind of leak that hit Rockstar in the run-up to GTA 6, though player data or something else could also be involved.

PPR take: Rough news for one of the best RPG studios around. If you have a Warhorse account, keep an eye out for an official update, and be wary of anything claiming to be “leaked” footage until the studio says more.
