Hoist the colours again. Ubisoft has confirmed that New Game+ is finally coming to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. “Thank you everyone for your patience. New Game+ is coming to Black Flag Resynced next week!” the official Assassin’s Creed account posted on October 22, as GamesRadar+ reports. Insider Gaming notes it came with a GIF of Edward Kenway doing the famous Leonardo DiCaprio toast from The Great Gatsby.

What’s confirmed:

  • When: “next week.” That’s all Ubisoft has said so far.
  • What: a New Game+ mode, so you can play the main campaign again.
  • The wait: Ubisoft said back in July that New Game+ was one of its top priorities, according to Insider Gaming. It has taken more than three months to arrive.

Still unknown: the exact date, which platforms get it first, and what carries over into a new run. Inven Global points out that no patch notes had been shared yet, and GamesRadar+ says it’s unclear whether anything else comes with the update.

Black Flag Resynced is Ubisoft Singapore’s remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, rebuilt on the latest Anvil engine (the one behind Assassin’s Creed Shadows) with improved stealth and parkour, deeper naval mechanics and new story content. It launched July 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and on Ubisoft+.

PPR take: Black Flag’s Caribbean is one of the best open worlds the series ever made, and a second lap through it is an easy sell. Now we just need to know what carries over. We’ll post the patch notes when Ubisoft names the day.
