Escape From Playtime is out in Steam Early Access, and a Poppy Playtime Chapter 6 teaser points to 2027

The toy factory is open for co-op. Mob Entertainment’s Escape From Playtime is out now in Steam Early Access, priced at $9.99 and discounted to $8.99 for launch (Steam). It’s a co-op survival horror spin-off set in the Poppy Playtime universe, and it went live at noon ET today (Tech Times).
How it plays. You play as the Smiling Critters, the plushies from Chapter 3. A mysterious Voice sends your team into shifting sections of the factory to scavenge materials for “a promised home for toys,” while rejected Playtime Co. experiments hunt you (Games Press). Runs mix scavenging with puzzles, stealth and light combat, and proximity voice chat is a double-edged sword, since talking too loud can get your whole crew caught.
Bigger than the beta. Mob’s launch post says player feedback from the open beta pushed the game from four players to 1-8 player co-op. All eight Smiling Critters are in. CatNap, Hoppy Hopscotch, Bobby Bearhug and DogDay are playable from the start, and CraftyCorn, KickinChicken, Bubba Bubbaphant and PickyPiggy unlock as you progress. A roadmap covers updates through the rest of 2026 and into 2027.
And then there’s Chapter 6. Mob also put up a short teaser called “What’s the time?” on its YouTube channel today. Fan news accounts like Mascot Horror News say it’s the first teaser for Poppy Playtime Chapter 6 and that it points to a 2027 release. Mob hasn’t put out a press release or a store page for Chapter 6 yet, so treat 2027 as a target year for now.
PPR take: Co-op horror on Steam has been huge since Lethal Company, and dropping a Chapter 6 tease on the same day is smart timing. Eight-player chaos for under ten bucks is an easy sell for a Halloween week game night.
