Jun got a facelift. Archetype Entertainment’s October community update for EXODUS includes a new video from general manager Chad Robertson showing an updated male Jun Aslan, reworked after players complained about the old design.

What changed, going by Insider Gaming and Push Square’s side-by-side:

  • Younger look: the scruffy facial hair is gone, and his face is shorter and sharper.
  • More expression: the face reads as livelier, with a more natural hairstyle.
  • Same armor: the winged-lion suit is unchanged.

Jun still isn’t fully customizable. You pick male or female Jun and can change hairstyle, hair color, facial hair, eye color, makeup and tattoos, but not facial structure. Archetype says female Jun’s updated look is coming soon, and the update also teases more story about Salt the Octopus, one of Jun’s crew.

The game: EXODUS is a choice-driven sci-fi RPG set in the Centauri Cluster, published by Wizards of the Coast and made by a studio founded by ex-BioWare veterans James Ohlen, Chad Robertson and Drew Karpyshyn. It launches April 7, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

PPR take: The timing is hard to miss. With BioWare shut down this week and Mass Effect on ice, EXODUS is suddenly the space RPG a lot of those fans are looking at, and a studio that listens this early is a good sign.
