Shrek 2 Remastered leaks on the Xbox Store days before its ID@Xbox reveal

The worst-kept secret in remasters just got a little less secret. A Microsoft Store page for Shrek 2 Remastered went live early on October 16, as Gematsu spotted, complete with screenshots, a feature list and a pre-order trailer, before it was taken down.
The listing names Aspyr, the studio behind recent classic re-releases, as the developer. A Shrek 2 remaster first surfaced in a big Steam achievements leak in September, and Shrek briefly appears in the teaser for the ID@Xbox Showcase on Tuesday, October 20, so the official reveal is likely days away.
What the store page promised:
- Rebuilt visuals with better textures, an enhanced UI, 4K resolution and updated cutscenes
- A new Photo Mode and a Cheat Mode for unlocking cheats during a run
- Up to four players in couch co-op, online play, or a mix of both
- The same levels from Shrek’s swamp to the castle of Far Far Away, with the option to swap heroes at any time to use their abilities
According to TheGamer, the pre-order trailer opens with a GTA VI parody before revealing what it’s actually for. Kotaku and GameSpot both note the page listed no release date or price, and other platforms haven’t been confirmed yet.
PPR take: The 2004 original was a surprisingly solid co-op brawler, and adding online play fixes the one thing that kept it on the couch. Watch the ID@Xbox Showcase on Tuesday, October 20 at 1 p.m. ET for the date.
