Six years after launch, Eivor finally gets a second lap. Ubisoft’s Fall 2026 Assassin’s Creed update, written by head of content Jean Guesdon and posted on the official Assassin’s Creed site, confirms that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets New Game+ on Thursday, November 5. It’s one of the most requested features the game has ever had, and Ubisoft says it’s arriving to celebrate Valhalla passing 40 million players, as Game Informer reports.

The same post also carried a line a lot of fans didn’t want to read: there’s no other Assassin’s Creed remake in active development right now.

What’s in Valhalla’s New Game+ update

New Game+ lets you start Eivor’s saga over while carrying much of your progression with you, with dedicated scaling so England still pushes back. According to the full text of the update, the patch also adds an optional progression mode where your gear, runes and masteries all feed into Eivor’s overall Power, plus new runes, achievements and a stash system. There’s a new resource called Mithril for upgrading Divine Gear and strengthening runes, Divine Gear quality for every item, and a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s look in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Ubisoft says full patch notes are coming, along with news on current-generation console updates “in the coming days.”

No more remakes, for now

Black Flag Resynced was the series’ first full remake, and Guesdon said it “taught us a tremendous amount,” per VGC. But he was blunt about what’s next: “we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development.” The teams are focused on new games, “including projects you haven’t heard about yet.” He added that it isn’t “a closed door,” and that Ubisoft will keep looking at ways to bring older games back. Gadgets 360 notes Resynced’s final major content update, with New Game+ and a Nightmare difficulty, is out now.

Invictus and Hexe check-ins

Codename Invictus, the PvP multiplayer project, went through a private Insiders Session a few months ago. Ubisoft says players liked the parkour, vertical maps and playing as different AC characters, but wanted “more of the pillars that define Assassin’s Creed,” so the team has been reworking it. There’s no release window. Codename Hexe, the darker single-player game that Game Informer notes is set during the 17th-century Holy Roman Empire witch hunts, is making “steady progress,” but Ubisoft says there’s “still work ahead” and the next major update comes in 2027. Ubisoft’s German newsroom adds that the post also covered the Netflix live-action series and showed the logo for the series’ 20th anniversary next year.

PPR take: Valhalla is a huge game, and a lot of people hit the credits with a maxed-out Eivor and nothing left to spend it on. New Game+ with real scaling, a stash and a new upgrade resource gives that save file a reason to exist again, and November 5 is close enough to plan a weekend around. The remake news stings more. Resynced landed well, and plenty of players were hoping Unity or the Ezio games were next. Ubisoft isn’t ruling that out, but “not actively in development” means years, not months. The Invictus note is the most interesting part to us: a studio openly saying playtesters told it the game didn’t feel enough like Assassin’s Creed, and that it changed course, is a good sign. Hexe fans, though, are waiting until 2027 for their next real look.
