No Man's Sky FORSAKEN is out: creepy biomechanical corvettes, space courier jobs and seamless warping to nearby stars

Space just got spooky. Hello Games has released No Man’s Sky update 7.10, FORSAKEN, its Halloween update, and it stays out in deep space where last month’s COSMOS update left off. Founder Sean Murray wrote on Xbox Wire that it’s the team’s fifth major update this year, after REMNANT, XENO ARENA, THE SWARM and COSMOS.
Forsaken traders and haunting mementos. According to the official patch notes, haunting mementos now turn up at infested outposts, deep-space hulks, derelict freighters and planetary digsites. Hang around harvesting them too long and hostile boundary horrors show up. You can summon forsaken traders at space outposts and swap mementos for new corvette modules: cockpits, habs and biomechanical hull pieces. They also sell a living Larva Cannon Multi-Tool for preserved grubs, and dedicated salvagers can earn the Larva Tank helmet and the “Mind Harvester” title.
More corvette parts. Beyond the spooky set, the update adds Vantage, Hornet, Viper and Mantis-class cockpits plus Legion-class interiors.
The quality-of-life stuff might be the real headline:
- Seamless warping: stars from nearby systems show up as targetable destinations in space, and you can warp straight to them without opening the Galaxy Map.
- Space courier missions: if you have a corvette and a Gravitino Coil, you can take package delivery jobs from deep-space outposts.
- Minimal HUD mode, which shrinks the compass, hazard bars and mission notifications.
- A radial Multi-Tool wheel, so you don’t have to cycle through every mode.
- Holo-Arena creature battles at deep-space outposts, and orbital bases can now be uploaded for other players to visit.
FORSAKEN also brings the full game to iOS, which Hello Games announced earlier this month, along with memory optimizations for VR and Xbox Series consoles and a long list of bug fixes.
PPR take: Flying straight to a star you can see out the canopy, no Galaxy Map in between, is the kind of small change that makes space feel bigger. Ten years in, Hello Games is still shipping free updates like this.
