Robert Robertson’s first year on the job went pretty well. AdHoc Studio says more than five million players have now clocked in to Dispatch, its episodic superhero comedy, and it marked the game’s first anniversary on October 22 with a big list of extras. The highlights depend on how you play.

Two new ways to replay the story

The headline is a pair of behind-the-scenes modes. Cast & Crew Commentary adds more than 16 hours of commentary across every episode, with separate Cast and Crew tracks. Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham and others join the writers, directors and designers. The clever part is that different choices unlock different commentary, so a fresh playthrough can turn up stories you didn’t hear the first time. Storyboard Mode lets you play every episode start to finish as the original storyboard animatics, and you can switch it on mid-scene or run it with commentary at the same time.

Both modes are free for Digital Deluxe Edition owners. Just update and pick them in Settings. Everyone else can upgrade to Deluxe for $10.99, which also adds the digital art book and four digital comics, and AdHoc says the upgrade is 20% off on Steam and Xbox right now. Switch players need to download a new DLC pack from the eShop first.

Dispatch on your phone, free to start

Dispatch launches on iOS, Android and Google Play Games on PC on December 9, 2026. The first four episodes, the whole first half of the story, are free, and unlocking the full game costs $19.99 (prices vary by region). It’s coming to every region where the PC and console versions are sold except China and Japan.

A one-night concert

”Dispatch: Night Shift” is a one-night, 21+ show at AVALON Hollywood in Los Angeles on December 3, with THOT SQUAD, Bershy, Primer, Caroline Kingsbury and Fartbarf playing music from the game, while composer Andrew Arcadi and the SDN Company Band perform the score live. Email subscribers get presale codes on October 28, and Variety says presale is limited to two tickets per person.

For collectors, AdHoc also gave a first look inside the physical Deluxe Edition for PS5, Xbox Series X and Switch 2, and said a making-of book is planned for 2027. Community giveaways run through November 22.

PPR take: Commentary tracks that change with your choices are a smart way to get people replaying a story game they’ve already finished. Most bonus content is something you watch once, but tying it to your decisions turns it into a reason to make different calls the second time around. Five million players is a huge result for AdHoc’s first original game, and making the opening half free on mobile is a confident move. AdHoc is betting that once you meet the Z-Team, you’ll pay to see how it ends. Based on how many people have already stuck around, that seems like a safe bet.
