Don’t look out the window this Halloween. Devolver Digital announced that Look Outside, the pixel-art survival horror RPG from solo developer Francis Coulombe, launches on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Friday, October 30.

It’s the game’s first trip off PC. Look Outside launched on Steam on March 21, 2025, where it became a cult hit. The PlayStation Store listing shows a release time of 4:00 PM UTC, which is noon ET. Devolver hasn’t announced a console price, and there’s no Xbox version in this announcement.

The setup: A mysterious event turns anyone who looks outside into a grotesque monster, so you’re stuck inside a single apartment building. You scavenge the halls for food, supplies and makeshift weapons, then head home to cook, craft, play games and get to know neighbors who might become allies. Combat is turn-based and accounts for the space between you and your enemies, and there are more than 150 hand-crafted creatures to fight. A run takes about 10 to 12 hours, with a dozen bosses and several endings.

PPR take: This one is weird in the best way, and handheld on Switch 2 with the lights off sounds like the right way to play it. Good timing, Devolver.
