One week out. S-GAME has dropped the official launch trailer for Phantom Blade Zero, and it’s packed with weapons and bosses we hadn’t seen. The game launches digitally on PS5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on October 28 at 7 PM PT, which is 10 PM ET (October 29 in most of the world, which is the date on the official site). According to GamingBolt, pre-loading opens October 26 at the same time.

Physical copies come later. S-GAME also announced that Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate physical editions for PS5 will launch in 2027, per Gematsu. GamingBolt says the Ultimate Edition comes with a collectible steel case.

What the trailer shows. GamingBolt picked out a bladed umbrella that Soul throws like a buzzsaw to finish enemies, dual blades that let him turn into a raven and dive on targets, and a two-handed sword that unleashes a fiery tornado. S-GAME has promised at least 50 bosses (with “a few more” teased), and says enemies won’t respawn.

The setup. You play Soul, a warrior framed for his master’s death and left with a ruined heart and 66 days to live. S-GAME calls the style “Kungfupunk,” a mix of Wuxia, fantasy and folk horror inspired by Hong Kong’s golden age of action films, built in Unreal Engine 5 with motion-captured fight choreography. There are more than 30 weapons and over 20 “Phantom Edges” to mix and match, and beating powerful foes earns you their weapons and signature techniques.

PPR take: Phantom Blade Zero was one of the headliners in our October release roundup, and this trailer makes a strong last pitch before GTA 6 takes over everyone’s November. If you’re on PC, it’s worth setting the pre-load reminder for the 26th.
