Nintendo is not done showing off The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2. Two new trailers landed today, and as Polygon spotted, one of them gives a quick look at Dark Link around the 15-second mark, flipping onto Link’s sword the way fans of the Water Temple will remember.

That trailer also shows Ganon at the piano, Link aboard a pirate ship, and a run of dungeon fights. The second trailer, posted to Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube channel, focuses on the ocarina, the Master Sword and exploring Hyrule.

What we know from Nintendo’s five-minute overview trailer on October 14:

  • The game is “completely reborn” for Switch 2, with overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue, and full symphonic orchestral music
  • You can hum or play a song for real, and the Switch 2 microphone will make Link’s ocarina respond in game
  • A new hall of statues lets you read up on monsters you’ve beaten and rematch them; Nintendo’s page calls it the Hall of Fallen Heroes, while Gematsu and other coverage of the trailer call it the Hall of Fallen Foes
  • GameObserver reports two new young Link and young Zelda amiibo arrive in 2027 and unlock special in-game masks, and existing Zelda amiibo give rewards too

Hands-on previews went up this week as well, and Polygon’s writeup called the remake “snappy, streamlined, and polished in ways that make it feel totally fresh.”

Release: November 5, 2026, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.

PPR take: Ocarina is the game a lot of us measure every other 3D adventure against, so Nintendo has almost no room for error here. Teasing Dark Link this late suggests they’re holding a few surprises back for launch day, and with GTA VI landing two weeks later, November is shaping up to be brutal for anyone’s free time.
