Crimson Desert hotfix 2.04.04 stops key items duplicating and farm livestock vanishing

Another night, another Crimson Desert hotfix. Pearl Abyss posted the patch notes for version 2.04.04 at 04:28 UTC on November 1, which works out to 11:28 PM ET on Saturday night. That’s the fourth hotfix since the Charting the Unknown DLC and update 2.04.00 arrived this week, and it comes less than a day after 2.04.03.
It’s out now on Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation and the Epic Games Store. Pearl Abyss lists Xbox and the Mac App Store as still in progress. MP1st reports it shows up as update 1.000.681 on consoles.
The three fixes
This one is short. The biggest fix is for equipment classified as a key item: if you equipped it on one of your Greymane comrades and then loaded a save or restarted the game, it could get unequipped and show up duplicated in your inventory. That’s the kind of bug that can make a mess of your inventory, so it’s good to see it gone.
The second fix covers livestock registered at your farm disappearing. If you’ve been building up a farm since the update, that one probably hurt. The third is cosmetic: some text in the “Gift” menu was showing up in Korean. That same menu was changed in 2.04.03 to let you gift multiple items at once.
Still on the list
Pearl Abyss also refreshed its Known Issues notice on November 1. One entry traders will want to know about: the quantity of packaged trade goods bought from the Samora island merchant can come out wrong when you move them from a ship to a wagon. Pearl Abyss says it doesn’t happen if you move the goods one at a time. The list also still includes a crash during one boss fight, missing underwater sound effects, and an FSR4 upscaling problem that can make rain disappear or blur the screen.
PPR take: Four hotfixes in a few days isn’t a sign of a broken DLC so much as a studio actually reading its bug reports, and that’s what you want after a big content drop. These fixes are small, but a vanishing farm or a duplicated key item is the kind of thing that can make you stop trusting your save, so getting them out fast matters. The trade goods workaround is worth remembering until it’s fixed: if you’re running cargo off Samora, move it one item at a time and check your numbers. Xbox players are still waiting on this one, so keep an eye on the platform status line in the notes.
