Mortal Online 2 hotfix 3.1.20.32 fixes slow ripostes and speeds up Reliquary Siphons

First cleanup pass on the new combat. Star Vault pushed Hotfix 3.1.20.32 for Mortal Online 2 in the early hours of Wednesday, October 28 (ET), per its Steam announcement. It’s the first fix-up since Era of Refinement Patch 1 went live on October 21.
Why ripostes were the big one
Patch 1 reworked how parrying works. Per the 3.1.20 patch notes, blocking no longer costs 10 stamina to start and instead drains stamina while you hold it, you don’t have to reset your parry input every two seconds anymore, and global weapon charge and release speeds were adjusted. That’s a lot of moving parts in one patch, and the riposte, the attack you throw right after a successful parry, is where it all comes together.
The hotfix says ripostes were charging longer than intended, and Star Vault notes it was especially noticeable on heavier weapons after the last patch. That’s now fixed. If you main a big two-hander and your counterattacks felt sluggish this past week, this is why.
Reliquary Siphons are faster now
The other notable change is to Reliquary Siphons. A siphon that’s turned on and not interrupted now drains a Reliquary Shield in 30 minutes, down from 45. A siphon that’s turned off and not interrupted now deteriorates in 20 minutes.
The smaller fixes
Pet bandages were ignoring the Corrupt debuff, which is fixed. Star Vault also fixed a UI issue with claiming account items and a minor issue in the Sator Vessel boss room, and it added more analytics. That’s the whole list, and the full hotfix notes are on Steam (also mirrored on SteamDB).
What’s next
Update, October 31: Star Vault has since outlined Era of Refinement Patch 2, with an Aggressive Flag and a PTR on November 18. Our story has the details.
PPR take: A quick turnaround on riposte timing is good to see, because that’s exactly the kind of thing the new parry system lives or dies on. Big combat reworks almost always need a follow-up, and Star Vault getting this one out a week after the patch, with a clear note on what was wrong, is how it should go. The siphon change is the one to watch over the next few weeks. Going from 45 minutes to 30 is a big cut, and it will be interesting to see how players feel about it once it has been in the game for a while. Heavy-weapon folks, go see if parry-and-punish feels right again.
